Credit recognition

Credit recognition for undergraduate core modules for official undergraduate studies previously completed:

If the credits obtained in undergraduate core subjects must be recognised under the current legislation, the University of Deusto will prepare a preliminary credit recognition report, which will be sent by post. This report will include detailed information about the terms for enrolment for the following academic year. The recognition of credits will take effect once enrolment has been made.

Subject recognition

Once enrolment has been completed, you can apply for subject recognition for:

  • Previous official university studies (whether successfully completed or not) of an equivalent or higher cycle.
  • Previous non-official university studies (whether successfully completed or not) of an equivalent or higher cycle.
  • Non-university higher education (Higher Vocational Education) (only in undergraduate studies).
  • Cultural, sports, student representation, solidarity and cooperation activities (only in undergraduate studies).
  • Work or professional experience.

When and where to submit the credit recognition application form

Undergraduate studies:

  • New students: at the time of enrolment
  • Students re-enrolling on a course:
    from 6 to 9 September (for subjects in the 1st semester)
    from 11 to 19 February (for subjects in the 2nd semester)

Undergraduate studies: until 30 September 2016

What supporting documents do I have to submit?

You must submit the duly completed application form along with the following supporting documents:

  • Recognition of previous university studies (official or non-official):
    • A certified photocopy (or photocopy and original to check authenticity)
    • Course syllabus of each recognised subject, stamped by the issuing centre and for the academic year it was completed.
  • Recognition of credits for non-university studies (Higher Vocational Education):
    • Personal academic record; a certified photocopy (or photocopy and original to check authenticity).
  • Recognition of cultural, sports, student representation, solidarity and cooperation activities (only in undergraduate studies).
    • Proof of having obtained credits for these activities.
  • Recognition of previous working or professional experience:
    • Curriculum Vitae
    • Employment history
    • Proof of all the merits subject to be assessed.
